In order to delete a branch on git locally you can use git branch --delete <branchname>
and if you want to do it remotely you can do git push --delete <branchname>
you can use ?*
to match the rest of the characters when moving the files with mv
command.
Lets say you have different files such as finance.jpg
,fin-tech.jpg
,fin-last.gif
and you want to move all the files at once instead of moving each file one by one as each file has a different name and extension. You might do something like mv fin?* folder/
as all three files have same first three characters and rest can be anything so using this trick you can move all the files with different extensions at once.
